On 10 May, five of Hurst Equestrian’s youngest riders travelled to Beech Farm to compete in the NSEA Grass Roots Regional Championships and Areas Festival qualifiers. It proved to be an outstanding day, with the small but mighty team bringing home an impressive twelve rosettes and seven qualifications between them.

The day got off to a brilliant start in the 50cm Optimum Time class. The team jumped clear to take 2nd place, finishing just over a second behind the winners. Congratulations to Penny G, Willow I, Sienna P, and Elsa S. Elsa and Penny also secured individual placings, finishing 5th and 6th respectively. These fantastic results mean the team and both individuals have qualified for the Regional Championships and Area Festival.

Even greater success followed in the next class. The Hurst team stormed to 1st place, once again finishing on a score of zero and recording the fastest time. Well done to Sienna, Elsa, and Atticus AH. More individual rosettes were collected too, with Atticus placing 4th and Elsa earning her second 5th of the day.

The competition concluded with a strong individual performance from Atticus in the 70cm class, where he jumped clear to finish 3rd and secure his qualification.

What a brilliant day and a superb set of results. Every rider jumped clear, every rider earned rosettes, and every rider qualified for the championships. A huge well done to all!
