Training

Hascombe Farm Equestrian Centre/Hickstead Showground/Other Locations

Hurst pupils only

Pupils train weekly at the world class facilities at Hascombe Farm Equestrian Centre and Hickstead Showground.

We provide weekly lessons with Hurst's Equestrian Coaches, Harriet Upton and Ashley Boyce. We also offer clinics with top professional riders such as Olympic dressage rider Fiona Bigwood and Olympic event rider Tina Cook.

During half terms we run clinics further afield, such as cross country training at Coombelands Equestrian Centre, and Littleton Manor Equestrian Centre.

Hurst College Inter-School Show Jumping Competition

The All England Jumping Course, Hickstead

Open to school teams and individual riders â€‹â€‹

Next event: 25th September 2025

Hurst College runs their Inter-School Team & Individual Show Jumping Competition every September at Hickstead Showground.

We offer three classes/heights ranging from 40cm to 90cm.

There are opportunities for a variety of abilities. Those in the smallest class may compete with an assistant - which means young riders can jump on lead rein.

Any Hurst riders who do not compete at this event have the opportunity to help to run the event with responsibilities such as helping to set the show jumping courses, managing the collecting ring, manning the Secretary’s desk and providing refreshments.

Residential Camp

Hascombe Farm Equestrian Centre

Hurst pupils only

Next event date: 2nd-5th May 2025

Our four-day residential camp aims to provide Hurst riders with the opportunity to train with a variety of coaches across dressage, show jumping and cross-country. The camp also features various talks and demos from industry experts on matters of equestrian care. In 2023, students were able to tour the world class stud facilities at Breen Equestrian, learnt a lot during a talk and demo from an equine dentist. and enjoyed a variety of other informative activities.

The first camp took place in April 2023 and was held at The All England Jumping Course, Hickstead and we look forward to the second camp May 2025.
