It was a successful February Half Term for the Hurst Equestrian Team, with riders attending two shows and bringing home an impressive collection of rosettes and qualifications.
On 15 February, pupils travelled to Coombelands Equestrian for the NSEA Eventers Challenge qualifiers. Hurst riders competed in the 70cm class and achieved outstanding results. The team won the class, securing qualification for the Eventers Challenge Final in May 2026 at Hickstead Showground. Congratulations to Amelie P, Scarlett C, and Hettie MC. Amelia B also competed in the same class as an individual and finished 3rd, earning her a place in the individual final at the same championships. A fantastic achievement!

The following week, team members headed to Felbridge Showground for the Show Jumping qualifiers for the NSEA Championships, held in October at Addington Manor in Buckinghamshire. In the first class of the day, the 70cm, Hurst riders excelled once again. The team finished 1st, securing their championship qualification. Well done to Rosie C, Amelia B, Amelie P, and Scarlett C. There were strong individual performances too, with Rosie C winning the class on her new horse, Hungary’s Bruce, and Amelie P placing 3rd - both riders qualified individually for the 70cm championship.
The next class brought more success, with the team finishing 2nd and qualifying once again. Congratulations to Darcey G, Scarlett C, Rosie C, and Amelia B. A special mention goes to Rosie C, who claimed her third win of the day, earning individual qualification for the 80cm as well. An incredible set of results, and it is great to secure so many Championship qualifications this early in the year.
Outside of NSEA competitions, Hurst pupils also shone. Rosanna A placed 2nd in a 70cm Arena Eventing class at Golden Cross, an impressive result in an open class against both adults and her contemporaries. Later in the half term, she returned to Golden Cross for show jumping and won the 60cm. A huge well done to Rosanna and her super pony, Lily.
